Poochopolis publishes guides, breed profiles, a shop of curated product pages, a blog, and a U.S. directory for finding veterinarians, groomers, dog parks, and pet stores. This page explains the limits of that information. Using the site means you understand these limits.

We work to be useful and honest. We still cannot sit in the exam room with your dog, stand in a specific park at 6 p.m., or guarantee that an Amazon listing has not changed since we last checked. When in doubt, verify with a licensed professional or the business itself.

Informational only

Everything on Poochopolis — including articles, FAQs, breed pages, blog posts, shop copy, maps, and directory listings — is general information for dog owners. It is not a diagnosis, treatment plan, training protocol, nutrition prescription, legal opinion, or a promise that a place or product will work for your household.

Individual dogs differ. Age, health, breed mix, medications, housing, climate, and handling all change what is safe or appropriate. What we describe as a common pattern is not a rule for your dog.

Not veterinary advice

Poochopolis is not a veterinary practice. Content about health, wellness, joints, skin, teeth, digestion, anxiety, heat, toxins, puppies, seniors, or “when to see a vet” is educational. It is not a substitute for examination, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care by a licensed veterinarian.

  • Do not delay veterinary care because you read something on this site.
  • Do not start, stop, or change medications, diets, or supplements based only on our pages.
  • If your dog is in distress — collapse, trouble breathing, uncontrolled bleeding, suspected toxin, heatstroke signs, seizures, bloat, or anything that feels like an emergency — seek emergency veterinary care immediately. Do not use Poochopolis as a triage tool.

Our Near me map and veterinarian state pages can help you find clinics in our directory. They are not an emergency dispatch service. Listings are not labeled as 24-hour emergency hospitals. Call ahead, and if you need urgent care, use a local emergency clinic or your veterinarian’s after-hours instructions.

Food, treats, and supplements

Buying guides and comparisons for kibble, treats, toppers, and supplements are editorial overviews. They are not a diet formulated for your dog. Nutrient needs, allergies, and medical conditions require a veterinarian (and often a veterinary nutritionist). Labels, recipes, and feeding guidelines change. Confirm current ingredients and feeding directions on the product itself.

Training and behavior

Walking, manners, crate, and enrichment articles describe general approaches. They are not a substitute for an in-person trainer, behavior consultant, or veterinary behaviorist — especially for aggression, fear, or bite risk. If you or others are unsafe, get qualified help in your area. We are not your trainer.

Breed profiles

Breed pages summarize typical traits, care needs, and commonly discussed health topics. They are not a guarantee of any individual dog’s temperament, health, or suitability. Mixed-breed dogs, lines within a breed, and living situations vary widely. Use breed pages as a starting point, not as a contract with genetics.

Some featured breed illustrations are AI-generated artwork used as editorial portraits. They are not photographs of a specific dog offered for sale, and they are not clinical images.

Travel and how-tos

Guides about flying, car travel, camping, hiking, heat, and packing are practical overviews. Airline, hotel, campground, and public-land rules change. Carriers, crate sizes, and local leash laws differ. Confirm current policies with the airline, land manager, or destination before you go. Outdoor safety advice cannot account for your trail, weather, or dog on a given day.

Local listings and maps

Find pages list real places we have in our directory: veterinarians, dog groomers, dog parks, and pet stores. Coverage is strongest where we have imported or reviewed data. It is not a complete census of every business in the United States.

  • Source and freshness. Many listings were imported from public map data (including OpenStreetMap) and from businesses that submit themselves. Names, addresses, phones, websites, and coordinates can be wrong, outdated, or incomplete. Hours are often missing; we do not invent hours we do not have.
  • No endorsement. A pin on the map is not a recommendation, rating, or verification that a clinic is currently open, accepting patients, or appropriate for your dog. We do not inspect every location.
  • Maps are approximate. ZIP search uses geocoding and a radius around a point. Pins can sit off the true entrance. Distance is an estimate, not turn-by-turn directions.
  • Submissions. Public “Submit your business” listings stay pending until we review them. Pending listings do not appear on the map. Publication is not a certification of quality.

Always confirm address, hours, services, and fees with the business before you visit or book. If you spot an error in a listing you own or use, contact us.

Products and affiliates

Shop pages and product callouts in guides are editorial picks and comparisons. We do not manufacture those products. Fit, durability, and safety depend on your dog. Check current specifications, size charts, recalls, and reviews on the retailer’s page at the time you buy. Street prices and availability change.

Some links are affiliate links. If you buy through them, Poochopolis may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That does not change this disclaimer: a product mention is not a warranty. Details are on our Advertising Disclosure.

External websites

We link to Amazon, clinic and store websites, map providers, and other third parties. Those sites have their own terms, privacy practices, and content. Poochopolis is not responsible for what you find after you leave our pages.

No professional relationship

Using Poochopolis does not create a veterinarian–client–patient relationship, a trainer–client relationship, or any other professional relationship between you and us. Reading a guide or opening a map is not a consultation.

As-is information

We provide the site and its content as-is, for general use. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of completeness, accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement as they relate to third-party businesses, products, and user circumstances we cannot see.

You are responsible for how you use the information — including decisions about veterinary care, products you buy, and places you visit with your dog. Limitation of liability for use of the site is also described in our Terms of Service.

Corrections and updates

We correct errors when we learn about them. Guides and listings can go stale. If something is wrong, outdated, or unsafe as written, tell us on the contact page or at hello@poochopolis.com.
