An LED collar will not make your dog trail-ready, but it makes midnight campground potty trips and dawn trailhead approaches far less stressful when your headlamp is pointed at roots instead of your dog.
Keep regular ID tags on a separate collar or harness. Charge before overnight trips, and do not leave lighted gear with dedicated chewers unsupervised.
