The Ruffwear Swamp Cooler vest uses a three-layer evaporative design: soak it, wring out excess water, and the middle layer stays damp while airflow pulls heat away from your dog’s body.
It is a tool for warm trail days and sunny errands — not a substitute for shade, water, and avoiding peak heat. Re-wet as the vest dries, especially in arid climates where evaporation is fast.
Size by girth so the cooling panels cover the back and sides without rubbing the armpits raw.
